Youth on the Run: Exciting Spring Programs for Future Champions

This spring, TotalRunnerAthletics, in proud partnership with East Granby Parks & Recreation, is excited to continue our long-standing commitment to youth fitness with two revamped after-school running programs for students in grades 3–8. For over 8 years, we’ve helped shape a generation of strong, confident, and motivated young runners through innovative programming that supports their physical, cognitive, and social development—and this season is shaping up to be our best yet!

These programs are more than just running clubs—they're empowering experiences designed to meet every child where they are. Whether your student is discovering running for the first time or gearing up for competitive track and cross-country, our Spring sessions offer the perfect mix of fun, structure, and challenge. Runners will build fitness, grow their confidence, and form meaningful connections, all while working toward personal and team goals.

🌟 The Sprinters 5K Club at R.D. Seymour School (Grades 3–5) introduces students to the exciting world of running through fun games, age-appropriate training, and a supportive atmosphere. Over six weeks, students will learn proper techniques, train with peers, and have opportunities to participate in local races—culminating with the optional “FitKids in School Final Mile Day” at Wickham Park for grades 4 and 5.

🏃 The Runners 5K Challenge at East Granby Middle School (Grades 6–8) offers a more advanced training experience for middle schoolers aiming to take their skills to the next level. With a personalized 5K training plan, weekly races, and an emphasis on endurance, pacing, and mental strength, this program is perfect for athletes preparing for high school cross-country or track & field. Participants will also have the chance to shine at the FitKids Final Mile Day on May 22nd.

Both programs deliver a dynamic and supportive environment where kids can grow, thrive, and have a blast—all while discovering the many rewards of running.

Registration is now open—don’t miss the chance for your child to join in on the fun and start their journey toward becoming a stronger, more confident runner! Click on the link below for full program details, and to register on the East Granby Parks & Recreation Website!
